THE STRIP. Tread the glossy hardwood floors of this intimate gallery to pay homage to some of the world's finest modern and contemporary art in distinguished traveling exhibitions. The relatively small scale of the space ensures that you'll be up close and personal with the works on display. Past exhibitions have featured art by Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, and Claude Monet; several group shows of Impressionist works have also graced the walls with color and light. THE STRIP. Capitalizing on the strength of Las Vegas's tourism industry, this museum makes great art available amid a leisuretime playground. The striking space, crafted of Cor-Ten steel panels, displays works from the Hermitage (which specializes in pre-20th century art) and the Guggenheim (whose focus is the modern era). Shows typically run from six months to a year and have featured Impressionist works, artifacts from ancient Egypt, motorcycles, and art of the Russian tsars. The gallery is a manageable size, a boon to busy tourists.

WEST LAS VEGAS. This all-white, airy building presents changing exhibitions that bring eclectic modern and contemporary art to Sin City. Emerging artists, working in an assortment of media, are given a chance to wow the tourist masses as well as local art-lovers. The museum's mission to foster an understanding of the connection between art and life is manifested in the ever-increasing caliber and ambition of their shows. Since 2002, the museum has been an affiliate of the Smithsonian, furthering this institution's prestige. Stop by for a truly eye-opening experience, a break from the Strip, or a trip to the great gift shop.

THE STRIP. Steve Wynn's personal art collection is the highlight of this relatively small exhibition. In fact, only about 15 works are presented at a time, but they're often among the world's best. The gallery has an intimacy that puts viewers at ease, and the paintings are displayed on a scale that's rarely seen in larger venues. Colorful art is a Wynn favorite, as seen in Picasso's "Le Rêve," Gauguin's "Bathers," and Van Gogh's "Peasant Woman against a Background of Wheat." Other legendary artists represented in the rotating collection include Rembrandt, Warhol, Matisse and Sargent.
