THE STRIP. Instead of going on tour, this Tony Award-winning musical found a new home at the Wynn Las Vegas. It's a great draw for tourists, who can't say enough good things about Jeff Whitty's play. Peopled by puppets, "Avenue Q" is a sexier, grittier version of traditional puppet stories, and its themes of loneliness, purpose, friendship and place inject the characters with refreshing, real-life qualities. Funny, colorful and eminently entertaining, it's a must-see, no matter where you are. Just hold back from bringing younger kids along.

THE STRIP. These days, a specially-built, 1760-seat theater at The Venetian hosts the ingenious Blue Man Group (yes, those guys from the commercials), whose wild shows and amazing physicality have wowed international audiences for more than ten years now. Intriguing props are incorporated, of course, and the show has been hailed as a spectacular visual and entertainment success.

THE STRIP. Canada's homegrown <i>tour de force</i> and a worldwide musical phenomenon, Celine Dion graces Las Vegas with her own exuberant brand of performance. Spectacle and music make stunning bedfellows in this production directed by Franco Dragone (of Cirque du Soleil fame). Dozens of performers and musicians render the mesmerizing event more than a simple concert, and an enormous LED screen functions as a constantly changing backdrop. Great sightlines serve the cause beautifully, and the show is a can't-miss tribute to Vegas glitz and Hollywood showmanship. N.B. Shows are also scheduled on some Wednesdays; call for details.

THE STRIP. Las Vegas is lucky to have this man, who dreamed first of being a ball player for the Dodgers. His dream was realized, but an injury led him to pursue other talents, and he's now known as Vegas's "Man of Many Voices." Danny Gans is a singer, a comedian, an impressionist, and an actor. He amazes audiences with more than 100 voice impersonations, has received many awards (including "Entertainer of the Year"), and his show is a hot ticket. Make plans far in advance of your trip!

THE STRIP. Another visual and aural feast from Cirque du Soleil, this fantastical show pushes the limits of theatricality and performance. The story traces the quest to reunite a male-female set of twins, addressing issues of individuality and duality along the way. The journey is rich with color and spectacle, not to mention completely mesmerizing in its inventiveness and in the imagination of designers and acrobat-performers. Children five and over are welcomed. A great experience for all.
